Advancing Security Excellence Across Asia

The Asia Pacific Security Association (APSA) is the leading professional body for security practitioners across the Asian region. APSA was conceived in Bangkok in 1988 and officially established in 1994, thanks to the unwavering dedication and vision of Mr. Sombat Pimsang, a prominent figure in Thailand's security industry. Since its inception, APSA has expanded significantly, establishing chapters in 14 countries: Thailand, India, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Macau, Nepal, and most recently, Sri Lanka.

Today, APSA is the largest regional organization representing professionals responsible for security, including security managers, directors, and executives. Its growing membership also includes corporate leaders, consultants, architects, legal experts, and law enforcement personnel who seek to stay abreast of evolving security challenges and solutions. APSA is committed to enhancing the effectiveness and professionalism of the security industry by developing educational programs and resources that address a wide range of security concerns. Through these initiatives, APSA empowers its members and the broader business community to improve performance and uphold high standards in security practices.

APSA also works in close collaboration with governments and chambers of commerce to ensure that the perspectives of its members are considered in the formulation, revision, and interpretation of security-related legislation and standards. The association represents professionals, companies, and organizations engaged in providing consultancy services and security products across various sectors of the protection industry.

APSA Chapter have been established in 14 countries

Each year, a designated country chapter hosts the APSA International Conference and Annual General Meeting. The inaugural conference was held by the Thailand Chapter—the founding chapter—at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in 1994. Since then, member countries have taken turns hosting this important regional gathering.
